Total:                    1046          9111          63105

Observation start time: 07:00:00
Observation end  time: 15:00:00
Total observation time: 8 hours

Official Counter:        Tom Bolohan

Observers:        Dave Brown, Ken Wootton

Visitors:
A larger group of visitors this morning from a geocaching club that wanted
to see what the migration was all about. Thanks to those who helped with
the watch today and getting the count submitted.

Weather:
Pretty much complete cloud cover to start the day with temp at 7C and
getting to a high of 13C under a mix of sun and cloud. Winds were supposed
to be SW for the day but it appeared they were slightly WSW which I think
hindered today's flight.

Raptor Observations:
A better count than we expected in part because of a decent number of
Sharpies moving through but just a couple of adult Peregrines passed by and
we had definitely hoped for more on the moderate winds blowing up the
cliff. We finally got our first Northern Goshawk of the season today as
well.

Non-raptor Observations:
Just a few non-raptors to report today with details in the following eBird
checklist:
https://ebird.org/checklist/S120820825

And for those interested in the Monarchs we had at least 10 today
attempting to pass through at the observation knoll / platform. :)

Predictions:
Right now it's not looking very promising for the rest of the week with a
lot of unsettled weather forecast including rain and possibly even snow
over some areas of the region.  Winds are also forecast to continue from
either a westerly or southerly direction which will certainly push any
birds that even try to migrate inland from the lake and the hawk watch.
