To All -

The forecast was for SSW winds at 15 - 18 mph, and it sure looked like that
was to be the case as we reefed our jib for the first leg. After rounding
marks D and C, we headed up to mark B against a strong outgoing current. The
sun came out and the air just DIED. What a bummer. Some put out their
anchors, others tried to catch every little zephyr. For a while we had a
northeast wind. Then we looked behind and saw boats we had passed come
charging up on us in a strong southerly. Double bummer. But no one could
catch Lou Spitz who led all of the way around the course.

Thanks to RC Pro Dave Foster (with crew Dan Kaplan and Patty Lukes), and the
Race Patrol folks (Eric Beck, Peter Oberlink, David Bell, and Katie Weiss).
Only two weeks left of racing for the season. See you one the water. The
good times continue.

Hi everyone,

After a delayed start due to no wind, the wind picked up and the race got
started.  The wind built from 4 knots at the start to 15 by the finish.

Jessie Fitzgerald on Gusto from Minisceongo won the spinnaker division, and
Eric Baumes on Hee Soo came in second.  Guy May on Freya from Shattamuc won
the non-spinnaker division, and Warren Frerichs on Journey came in second.

Don't ever think that seconds don't count in racing.  In the non-spinnaker
division, after five hours of racing, four of the six boats finished within
five minutes on corrected time. Two boats, Ripple Effect and Pentimento,
finished within one second of each other. That is a .006% difference in
time. That is close racing.

8 boats competed in the spinnaker division and 7 boats in the non-spinnaker
division.  7 boats were from Nyack and 8 boats came from Hudson Cove,
Minisceongo and Shattamuc.
