About our guest:
Pianist, composer, and vocalist Darrius Willrich released his first album “Darrius” in 1999. It was licensed by UK boutique label Cafedesoul and JazzFM. These licensing agreements made Darrius’ music available in Spain, France, Germany, and the Netherlands. “Love Will Visit”, the second album was released in 2003. Selections from this album too were licensed by Cafedesoul. Can’t Get Enough, Darrius’ third album was released in 2009 and was licensed by P-Vine Records. This album was widely celebrated in Brazil. On June 12, 2010 Darrius performed in Rio de Janeiro to a sold out crowd that sang all the words to his songs at Viaduto de Madureira for Rio’s Valentine’s Day celebration. In October 2014 Darrius was a featured performer on The Capital Jazz Cruise alongside performers such as Lalah Hathaway, Patti Labelle, Raheem DeVaughn, Kirk Whalum, Spyro Gyra, Fourplay, Kem, Ruben Studdard, Cameo and War. In Seattle he has opened for Macy Gray, Tyrese, Mavis Staples, Earth Wind & Fire and Frank McComb. Darrius is currently working on his fourth album and is the current keyboardist for Digable Planets and tours with them worldwide.

Darrius has made contributions to the recordings of Digable Planets, Shabazz Palaces, Wiz Khalifa, Nasty C, Jake One, Vitamin D, Gift of Gab, Choklate, Donyea Goodman, Felicia Loud, Brent Arnold, Byrdie, D-Black, Nomad, Bubba Jones, Knife Knights, Darren Motamedy, Justin Pinder, Fatal Lucciano, Big World Breaks, Dyme Def, Brent Laurence and Jaymz Nylon. He continues to create, write, produce and perform as well as release new material and play a leading role in Critical Sun Recordings.
