We at Aventure Power Catamaran have for quite a few years tried to turn our
attention
to using kites on our Catamarans.
We have keels and bigger rudders to steer under autopilot at slower speeds,
but it seems that to fly kites properly you need
to trim them all the time to get the maximum out of the them.
What we have resorted to is the simple use of a mast, no mainsail or boom and
fly bigger
and specially cut assymetrical sails which will work perfectly.
These sails can be used from a close reach all the way through running and if
on a captive
winch and roller furling units very easy to use.
I have lots of information and VPP program if anyone is interested and we hope
to cross the Atlantic
in January with one of our production 50 footers.
