My Cat D333 has 27,638 hours on it. It got a new head and Turbo as a present to celebrate 25,000 reliable hours. For the first 45 years it only got Esso HD 30, then 4 years ago my son, the Engineer, convinced me to give it one of the newfangled multigrades. He says it sticks better when the engine is cold, and pumps around faster on startups. I will let you know when i get to 50,000 hours ( I estimate I will be 107 by then), just how that works out. I plan to replace the turbo then too, and maybe grind the valves. He says best I not fool with synthetics, as it might be tough on the seals. As he is in line to inherit the boat I think he has her best interests in mind.. Jim Donnelly Troller Fan Isle Powell River BC
