The official word from Canal Corp: Notice to Mariners Erie Canal - Schenectady to Little Falls August 22, 2014 The Erie Canal between Lock E-7 Vischer Ferry and Lock E-17 Little Falls has been temporarily closed due to elevated water levels from recent rainfall. Mariners are advised to be on the lookout for debris and expect stronger current than normal in nearby areas of the Canal System which remain open.
