8/19 Milford, Connecticut Audubon Coastal Center
9:35am-10:50am.  mid tide, rising,  overcast, rainy later in the morning,
72F-74F.
No Purple Martins seen today.  The osprey family was on their nest, calling
and male brought in a fish around 10:40am.
On the marsh: 6 Mute swans, Black bellied Plovers, Semipalmated sandpipers,
1 adult Yellow crowned night heron with 2 juveniles, 1 Clapper Rail behind
the building ,  4 Great Egrets and 1 Snowy egret.
On the grounds:  2 Downy Woodpeckers, 6 Mourning Doves, 7 Juvenile Yellow
crowned night herons sitting in the tree in front of center with one
flyover, 2 Common Yellow throats (1 juvenile feeding in the milkweed in
front garden), 2 Song sparrow, 1 Cardinal, 2 Goldfinches, 12 House finches
at the feeders, 1 singing Carolina Wren.
On Long Island Sound side:  2 flyover D.C. Cormorants, estimate of 400
Semipalmated Sandpipers,  20 Semipalmated plovers, about 100 Sanderlings, 2
Ruddy turnstones, Black bellied plovers, 5 Barn swallows flying around, 2
Tree swallows, 1 Piping Plover, 2 Great Egrets.
