Adding any question at this stage would be dicey, given that the bureau often runs extensive field tests before fiddling with its forms, ensuring that last-minute changes do not throw off its counting efforts. Worse, the Justice Department requested that the bureau inquire about people's citizenship statushttps://www.documentcloud.org/documents/4340651-Text-of-Dec-2017-DOJ-letter-to-Census.html. This threatens to sabotage the 2020 count. Asking about citizenship status would drive down response rates."

Here's more distressing news about the Census:
http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2018/01/trumps-pick-to-run-2020-census-has-defended-racial-gerrymandering-and-voter-suppression-laws/#
In light of Brunell's appointment to head the Census, could it be that we'd
be better off if the Census is delayed?
That being said, I can't imagine they would skip the 2020 Census. Is anyone
interested in collaborating to mobilize adult ed programs to educate adult
learners about the importance of the Census? Do you know of existing
instructional materials to that effect perhaps from 2010 that could be
updated?

Very distressing news…I do think that adult education programs can help to bring this important issue to light. We can’t afford to have racial gerrymandering and millions of people unaccounted for during this process.

“It’s a terrible thing, I think, in life to wait until you’re ready. I have this feeling now that actually no one is ever ready to do anything. There is almost no such thing as ready. There is only now. And you may as well do it now. Generally speaking, now is as good a time as any.” -Hugh Laurie
