Centerstage Theatre is excited to present the second show of our 2018-19
season and our eleventh annual Holiday Pantomime! We are kicking off the
most festive time of the year with a brand new Pantomime, RAPUNZEL. Full
of high energy song and dance, beloved routines, and jokes for every age,
RAPUNZEL was written by VINCE BRADY, critically acclaimed actor/director
and playwright of last year’s best selling Pantomime, Beauty and the Beast.
The show opens Friday, November 30th, and plays through Sunday, December 23
rd. Shows will take place on the following dates and times: Fridays,
November 30 and December 21 at 7:00pm; Saturdays, December 1, 8, 15, and 22
at 2:00 & 7:00pm; Sundays, December 2, 9, 16, and 23 at 2:00pm.
Saturday, December 8th, is our Theme Day – both shows. Our theme for this
show is Fairy Tales. Audience members are encouraged to come dressed as
their favorite fairy tale characters and take their picture in our photo
booth!
The cast consists of a wonderful group of professional actors, many of them
new to Centerstage. JESSIE SELLECK, recently off a successful run of the
acclaimed Seattle production of Disenchanted!, makes her Centerstage
debut. Audience favorite JOSHUA JERARD, (of season opener The Complete
Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)) returns to us as Prince Caspian.
The unforgettable role of the Dame is being played by Seattle resident BRAD
CERENZIA, and in the role of her son, Sammy, is newcomer CAMERON WATERS.
Nominated multiple times in the South Sound for her work, DEANNA MARTINEZ
joins the cast as Mother Gothel. Also the recipient of many South Sound
honors, JOHN KELLEHER returns to Centerstage after a long absence to play
the King. JENNA MCRILL and MICHLLE ABAD make up the fairy duo. The Adult
Ensemble is a mix of faces old and new: MARA PALMA, BARRETT PENROD, NICOLAI
ROYCROFT, and ALEX STEVENS. Finally, no Pantomime would be complete without
a Youth Ensemble, and this year’s does not disappoint! Leading the group as
the Fairy Queen is South Sound favorite LEILA NEIDLINGER, joined by
returning actors SOPHIA CARLSON and CHERISH WINSTON-TAYLOR. New to the
Youth Ensemble this year are POLINA CHOWDURY and CHAILIA WEDLAND. TAYLOR
DAVIS, Pantomime alum and director of last season’s Return to the
Forbidden Planet, directs.
ABOUT THE SHOW: The classic story of The Girl in the Tower comes to life
with this very non-traditional take on the tale. Characters interact with
the audience and breathe new life into every joke, scene, and hilarious
routine! The songs are from across the pop spectrum, the dance is a blend
of Music Theatre and Hip Hop, and the sets and costumes will magically
transport you to a wonderful world. Continue your Holiday tradition at
Centerstage…or start a new one. You won’t be disappointed!
ABOUT OUR THEATRE: Believing the theatre is an agent of challenge, change,
and education, Centerstage presents and produces quality performances to
enhance the lives of people and communities in Western Washington.
Centerstage Theatre, Federal Way’s only professional theatre, has been a
feature of the South Sound Arts Community since 1977 and currently performs
at the Knutzen Family Theatre in the Dumas Bay Centre. For more
