CCWC Members and Friends,

Please join us for the next Chambers-Clover Watershed Council meeting on Wednesday, April 8th, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.  Note that we will NOT be meeting at the usual location.  The April CCWC meeting will be held in Public Meeting Room West at the Pierce County Environmental Services Building, 9850 64th Street West in University Place.

This month's meeting will focus on the proposed Glacier NW gravel mining expansion near Sequalitchew Creek.  This project is of great interest to many of our members and to the watershed council as a whole, as it has the potential to impact ground and surface water, as well as riparian and aquatic habitat in our watershed.  The purpose of the meeting will be to gather information so that the council can form a position on the issue, which will be communicated to the Dupont Hearing Examiner in advance of the April 29th hearing on this project.

Because this is a highly complex topic, please prepare for this meeting by reading the following information:

 - City of Dupont staff report: http://www.ci.dupont.wa.us/development/glacier-nw-pioneer/index.html.

 - Information on Glacier's website: http://www.calportland.com/environmental_projects.aspx?project=8&page=2

 - The Nisqually Delta Association website: http://www.oly-wa.us/NDA/

There will be time to ask questions of our speakers, but the discussion will be best if we're all well informed.  More information will be available at the meeting, as well.

Please let me know if you have any questions about the agenda or this upcoming meeting.  I look forward to seeing you next week!

Melissa
