I heard (wrongly I hope) that MaxSea has decided to no longer support MAC, specifically OS X. Does anyone know of nav software optimized for OS X? Will MaxSea continue to work on Classic?

John, attached below is the latest info I have through Dolph McCranie.  Also
see this older info:

Continuing to bug MaxSea is a good idea.

Sorry for the late reply, I no longer get the MaxSea@navcenter.com
emails. For quite some time I have been trying to force Mac OS X issue
which has not been completed. I got very frustrated at the end of last
year, then Brice hired a guy to do marketing for NetSea at five times
my salary and apparently some business power over me so I gave Brice
my resignation. He didnot want to accept it and has tried to continue
talks with me. Since stretching an extra 10 years out of my
beleaguered investments has me a little concerned I am willing to
listen to what they have to offer.  Wednesday we discussed my
"departure" from NETSEA to work full time on the Mac edition of
MaxSea. I'm to be working on finalizing the proposal for that this
weekend. Right now I think I need to keep I&M involved so I have a
chance of getting the present Source code and not have to start this
process from scratch. For a little help could you give me an honest
estimate of what an upgrade of the current Mac Navigator version would
be worth to you, and would it be worth trying to get a Version of
Yacht into OS X.

To answer your question about Virtual PC, I have used Virtual 5 and
MaxSea Yacht 9 in my Ti Powerbook 667. Since I have the original with
it limited video memory I thought it was a good exercise in proving
the concept but not something I'd like to try to count on on the High
Seas. I've heard that Virtual 6 works better and the better video
cards should make a huge improvement. Maybe if my conversations with
Brice work out I'll give that a try.

Fred Pryor et al,
Are you going to continue supporting the Mac platform? My version of
Navigator is getting long in the tooth.
If you are not going to support the Mac will your programs run in
Windows emulation on the Mac?
I keep plugging your products, (both operating systems), on the
Trawler
World List,  but my last few e-mails to you have been unanswered. Is
there a problem?

I guess this says it all. I wrote Fred offering my support. Probably
another note or two wouldn't hurt. I sure hope that he is successful in
his efforts.
