Hello neighbors,

With clear skies and moderate temperatures today, I expect that there will be many trick-or-treaters walking throughout Vuecrest this evening.

To enhance safety, the Board suggests the following:

  • Please park your cars (and those of visitors) in your garage or driveway, rather than on the street.
  • Please discourage parents from driving alongside their kids as they trick-or-treat; ask them to park and walk! If this is not possible, please make sure that their headlights are on and their interior lights are off when driving!
  • Ensure that your kids are carrying flashlights and use them when going between houses. Despite many streetlights and an almost-full moon, flashlights help illuminate dark stairs and help trick-or-treaters be more visible to drivers.
  • Remember that "lights out" at the front door means that there's no candy; please respect your neighbors' homes and don't knock or ring if the porch light is off.
  • Finally, please call 911 if you see vandalism or other "tricks".
 Happy Halloween!

P.S. Our family regularly has over 200 kids knocking on our door on Halloween. I think the Vuecrest record is 380 trick-or-treaters, held by a family on Vineyard Crest. Let me know if you beat it!
