The City of Destiny Awards is a program spearheaded by a City Council appointed Citizens Recognition Committee that works to spotlight exceptional volunteers who drive Tacoma forward, and 2011 marks its 25th year of existence. There are a total of nine City of Destiny Award nomination categories: (1) Adult Leadership, (2) Youth Leadership, (3) Adult Sustained Service, (4) Youth Service, (5) Neighborhood Group or Community Partnership, (6) Corporation or Business, (7) Employee Group or Union Group, (8) Youth Group and (9) Environmental Sustainability (Group or Individual). All City of Destiny Award nominations must be received or postmarked by no later than Friday, January 14, 2011.
