If you are planning on applying to the Tacoma Arts Commission's 2010 Art Projects funding program, we highly suggest you attend the free workshop this Friday, November 6, 12 - 1:30 pm at the Tacoma Municipal Building, 747 Market Street, Room 900. This workshop will go over the application process and help address questions. No RSVP needed.
The Arts Projects funding application is available online at http://www.tacomaculture.org/arts/funding.asp. Deadline for applications is December 2, 2009.
About Arts Projects funding:
Arts Projects funding ranges from $1,000 to $5,000 and is used to support community projects that focus on the arts. Past funding has supported arts components of festivals, dance and musical performances, arts workshops, exhibit programs, performing arts series and literary events. Funded events must take place within the 2010 calendar year.
Eligibility extends to private non-profit agencies with any 501(c) designation; organized groups of community volunteers (such as a business district or neighborhood council with an advisory body, business license and organizational bank account); and for-profit businesses with an arts mission proposing a unique project designed specifically for public benefit that is not for profit. Applicants must have offices located within Tacoma city limits or, if the applicant group does not have any offices, a majority of their activities must take place within the Tacoma city limits. All funded activities must be produced in Tacoma.
