A free funding workshop for the Tacoma Arts Commission's 2009 Arts
Projects funding program is on October 22, 12 - 1:30 pm at the Tacoma
Municipal Building, 747 Market Street, Room 708. This workshop will go
over the application process and help address questions.

The Tacoma Arts Commission's 2009 Arts Projects funding application is
now available! See below for more information and eligibility. The
application is available online at

Deadline for applications is November 17, 2008.

2009 funding application for community-based Arts Projects now available
The City of Tacoma is now accepting Arts Projects funding applications
from eligible organizations producing arts programming in 2009. The
application deadline is Nov.17, 2008. Applicants are encouraged to
attend a free workshop, which explains the process and addresses
questions. The workshop will be held on Oct. 22 from noon until 1:30
p.m. at the Tacoma Municipal Building, 747 Market St., Room 708.

Arts Projects funding ranges from $1,000 to $5,000 and is used to
support community projects that focus on the arts. Past funding has
supported arts components of festivals, dance and musical performances,
arts workshops, exhibit programs, performing arts series and literary
events. Funded events must take place within the 2009 calendar year.

Eligibility extends to private non-profit agencies with any 501(c)
designation; organized groups of community volunteers (such as a
business district or neighborhood council with an advisory body,
business license and organizational bank account); and for-profit
businesses with an arts mission proposing a unique project designed
specifically for public benefit that is not for profit. Applicants must
have offices located within Tacoma city limits and all funded activities
must be produced in Tacoma.
