Chum Salmon Spawning!! Special news for Christmas: Al Schmauder¹s ³Friends
of Fish² has been seeing the return of Chum Salmon coming up Leach Creek to
spawn for the first winter in a decade.
The creek is 14 mile down the hill from our house, and all my kids grew up
watching those fish return to spawn every winter. Then the fish stopped
coming. . . . .
The Friends of Fish has been working their good deeds, good publicity,
getting the schools involved, etc. and TODAY the fish are coming up Chambers
Creek to spawn in the gravel of stream edges of Leach Creek.
What a marvelous sight!
