Because we did not want to wait for a suitable weather window, we just completed the entire NJICW from Manasquan to Cape May in our 35 ft Trawler (3.5ft draft). We travelled at mid to high tide and carefully followed all of the Active Captain advice posted at the trouble spots. Happy to report that we experienced no problems and the lowest water we saw was 6ft. The bridges around Atlantic City were all quick to respond and friendly. Additional observations would be not to do the Manasquan Inlet or the Point Pleasant Canal on a weekend. The current in the canal is strong so it helps to have it going in your direction. Anyone needing additional info can contact me directly.
