Migrants in Middlebury

Within a 5-minute span around sunset today, Sept 13, these birds passed
through my backyard: a male American redstart still in breeding plumage, a
female or juvenile redstart, a possible northern parula (didn’t get a good
enough look to be sure, but I saw the yellow chest), black-and-white
warbler in breeding plumage, and at least one (maybe two) red-eyed vireos.
There has also been a great egret on Long Meadow Pond for the past week or
so. They tend to show up here this time of year. Exciting evening!
