Just read that a meeting will be held by the Stamford Parks and Recreation
Dept. on October 18th to discuss a proposed dog park at Scofieldtown Park.
Terrible idea. Surrounding the tennis courts (also used for Pickleball) are
untouched fields and surrounding woods, home of displaying Woodcocks,
nesting Ravens, small birds like warblers and flycatchers and a walking
path all around the park. There are also open skies all around for views of
migrating and resident hawks and vultures. Last thing we need is a dog park
for all the obvious reasons well known to birders frequenting Selleck Woods
and other venues. I'll try to get more information and post it here and on
Nexdoor so we can be heard,
