Ready, Set, Count!
The Ontario Trumpeter Swan Restoration needs your help counting Trumpeter swans for the 2020 North American Trumpeter Swan Survey.

DATE: Feb 1, 2020 (alternate/weather dates are Jan 31 or Feb 2)

WHY: Every 5 years, North American trumpeter swans are counted and 2020 is the year for the swan count!  While Ontario covers a vast area, it is a province that has many people. People we hope will help us count swans. Having you and many volunteers out looking for and reporting swan sightings will give new and invaluable information on swan abundance, geographic distributions and seasonal habitat use needed for swan conservation and management.

HOW TO HELP: It is easy to participate! The equipment required is minimal and the information you will gather is basic and easy to collect. Even not seeing any swans at a locale is important to record. Even though the focus of the survey is on trumpeter swans, observations of other waterfowl or birds, especially notable sightings, are welcomed submissions.

Can you help?
