TACOMA, WA – Celebrate Halloween with “Eerie Dances” by the talented
dancers from the Tacoma City Ballet as they present The Haunted Theatre the
last two weekends in October at the Merlino Art Center in the Jan Collum
Ballroom Theater.  Tickets are $15 for any of the eight shows presented on
October 21 and 22, the 23rd, and October 28-30.  The Friday night
performances are at 7pm, with two matinees at 2pm and 4pm respectively on
each Saturday, and a 2pm matinee on each Sunday.

According to Artistic and Executive Director of the Tacoma City Ballet and
Director of the Ballet School, Miss Erin Ceragioli, “Audiences at this
year’s presentations should expect a beautiful, family-friendly production
containing nine short Halloween vignettes.”

Lasting slightly less than an hour, the performance time works well for
small children.  While performed by dancers of the Tacoma City Ballet, The
Haunted Theatre also features the children of the Ballet School
performing Happy
Halloween Bats and Monster Mash.

Performed for more than ten years, The Haunted Theatre is a great way to
celebrate the Spooky Season.  An audience pleaser includes the vignette No
Bones About It where dancing skeletons sail through the air under black
light. The amazing effect creates the illusion of dancing skeletons jumping
and flying through the air. The children in the audience won’t want to miss
the opportunity to dance around with The Blob in the finale of The Haunted
Theatre.

Since 1983, Tacoma City Ballet has resided in the historical Merlino Art
Center where it studies, rehearses, and performs the art of classical
ballet.  The Merlino Art Center is home to The Jan Collum Ballroom Theater,
a fully equipped black box theater that doubles as studio space for the
school and the company.

Celebrating their 67th Anniversary this year, Tacoma City Ballet is a
non-profit organization composed of both a ballet school and a performing
company. Dancers from the age of four to adults participate in classical
ballet classes, and the ballet company produces performance seasons for the
greater Tacoma community at the Pantages Theater accompanied by the Tacoma
City Ballet Orchestra.
