Looking for sample CollectionSpace data

Greetings, CollectionSpace colleagues --

My name is Peter Murray, and I am the interim lead of the team that will be offering CollectionSpace hosting. [1]  We are looking to better understand the characteristics of the CSpace application, particularly the machine resources required for hosting and for demonstrating the capabilities of the software.  We don't have a database ourselves, so we are hoping that existing CSpace implementations would be willing to offer snapshots of their data for us to work with.  If you are, then could you please reply with answers to these questions:

  • What version of CSpace are you using?

  • How would you describe your museum? (art, life sciences, natural history, etc.)

  • Are you willing to allow your data to be used for internal-to-LYRASIS-only server environment benchmarking?

  • Are you willing to allow your data to be used for public demonstrations (properly attributed to your museum, of course)?

  • Would you post a copy of the data at a HTTP or FTP location for us to retrieve?  Or would you like us to set up an account on our private upload site (https://private-upload.lyrasistechnology.org/) for you to use to transfer the files to us?

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Peter

[1] A little more about myself...I've been working in academic libraries for 23 years with 10 years in library consortia including 4 years at LYRASIS.  One of my passions is open source software with a focus on helping communities grow and become sustainable.  I'm looking forward to learning more about the museum community and to offering a service that the community will find useful.  For more about me, please visit my blog: the Disruptive Library Technology Jester (http://dltj.org/).

Dear Peter,

My name is John Lowe and I'm the UCB CollectionSpace tech lead and service
manager.[1]

We have anticipated your request a bit and have polled our usership here
about this matter; we are hoping to have a response shortly.

Expect more soon,

John

[1] A bit more about myself: I worked in academic libraries (online
cataloging here at UC Systemwide) for about 10 years, then went back into
linguistics -- mostly historical and computational for another decade. I
have a bit of enterprise experience with search engines and what is now
called data science as well. Not a blogger yet... www.johnblowe.com.
