I had heard of Ronco and Raritan "custom" tanks so I built a board out of
CPES'd and painted 3/4" plywood to fit in the port side of my lazarette to
contain my Lectrasan unit, the salt water injection tank(my Tecma toilets
are fresh water), a dedicated gp 31 battery and the remaining space was to
mount an approx. 35 gal holding tank. The board had 3/4" x 3" high glued and
screwed on to keep things from sliding around.
When I contacted Ronco and Raritan, I discovered their "custom" tanks were
just made from stock molds. I'd have to adapt my design to their blanks but
Id already constructed my board and I wanted my tank to FIT.
Got hold of Triple M Plastics in Maine, a small firm that builds tanks for
fire trucks, pest control companies and so forth:
http://www.triplemplastics.net/ They estimated they could weld up the tank
to my exact spec. out of 3/8 polypropylene for $220.00. That would include
any number of reinforced, threaded holes for fittings. I wanted no holes in
the bottom of my holding tank so I had one 1 1/2" threaded fill hole on top
and two 1 1/2" drop tubes at $30 apiece additional. Per Peggy Hall's advice
there are 2 x 1" NPT holes in diagonally opposite corners for 1" PEX vent
hoses. According to Peggy, 18" is about the max height for passive
ventilation which is the height of my tank. At the suggestion of the shop
owner, I added a 10" cleanout so if I-ugh- have to, I can reach the bottoms
of the draw tubes for cleanout. That was $20 extra.
So, for about what I'd have to pay for a Ronco or Raritan "custom" tank with
holes in the top, sides and bottoms, I got exactly what I wanted for $300.
UPS was around $80 Main to Louisiana.
Regards.

Ronco Plastics http://www.ronco-plastics.com has more than 400 shapes
and sizes, including over 100 that are NONrectangular. Their tanks are
top quality, thick walled (at least 3/8", which is 50% thicker than "off
the shelf" tanks), reasonably priced...and they install
fittings--including pickup tubes--in the sizes and locations specified
by the customer when they make the tank.
In the unlikely event Ronco (no relation to the VegoMatic Ronco, btw)
doesn't have a tank that'll fit, there are at least two companies that
make good quality welded plastic tanks:

ALL rotomolded tanks are made from "stock" molds, Larry...unless you
want to pay a mfr to make a mold for you. Ronco will do that, but it's
cost prohibitive unless you're a boat builder who needs at least 20 of
the same tank. However, unlike "off the shelf" tanks, fittings can be
"custom" installed in a rotomolded tank in any sizes, locations and
quantity specified by the customer. You might argue that "customized
fittings" doesn't qualify as "custom tanks"...unless you've had to
struggle with getting plumbing to fittings in "off the shelf tanks or
leaks in DIY installation of "fitting relocation kits.
And fwiw, Raritan's tanks are made my Ronco, and are right out of the
Ronco catalog.

NOT with holes in the top sides and bottom unless thats' where YOU
specify 'em.
Ronco didn't have a molded tank that fit your space...so ok, you went
with a welded plastic tank. Although rotomolded tanks are preferable
because there are no seams that might leak, welded plastics tanks are
the next best choice--provided you get it from the right source (Triple
M Plastics is an excellent source), not from any local bozo who owns a
heat welder...'cuz the welds--and therefore the skill of the welder--are
critical, 'cuz welded seams are the only place a tank can leak.
