Today, April 17, we are off to get checked in to Panama and to get a
little fuel. We
call on the radio for clearance to the flats anchoring area. We went there
and then Hal got a call from the agent to go to the old Panama canal yacht
club. Once tied up to the fuel dock a gentleman from the ACP visited us.
His job is to check out the yachts that want to go thru the canal and fill
out the paper work. Que Linda has been thru the canal before, and so we
already have an official number.
After that we got 300 gallons of Diesel at $2.65 per gallon.
We would have taken more, but they would only take cash,
as their credit card machine was dead. We still need 2000 gallons, but will
get it on the other side. Again after talking on the radio, we crossed back
to the marina. Later we put the tender in the water and wanted to go to the
city, for some shopping. But after asking permission we had to return to
the marina. Tenders and dinghies are not allowed in the harbor. Oh, well,
we should have not asked. That's all for today.
