Note: Thanks to Andy Grisold for the following information.
Pettipaug Yacht Club, where people are reporting the Golden Eagle, is
private property.  If you are not a member or have not been given
permission to be there by one of the officers of the club, you should
not risk upsetting someone birding where you should not be.

From Janis LaPointe with Louise Tucker and two others:
03/20/12 - East Hartford, Elm St, Hockanum River Trai -- The
Red-headed Woodpecker was active this afternoon in the usual location.
Go to the right along boardwalk where trail splits.  Seen where the
boardwalk curves and there are many tall, dead trunks.  Moved around a
lot, and left the area for an extended period of time.

From Paul Desjardins:
03/20/12 - South Windsor, Station 43, Newberry Road section -- 2
Northern Pintails, 2 Northern Shovelers, Common Raven.

From Paul Cianfaglione:
03/20/12 - Farmington, Batterson Pond -- 2 drake NORTHERN SHOVELER.

From Arthur Shippee:
03/20/12 - Old Lyme -- A couple of Black Vultures flying over Mile Pt
Rd.

From Tina Green:
03/20/12 - Westport, Sherwood Island State Park -- Virginia Rail seen
flying in the ditch near wooden footbridge.
Saugatuck River Bridge, I-95 -- 2 Peregrine Falcons, one flying down
river, the other having a meal on the bridge early morning.

From Janet Mehmel:
03/20/12 - Woodbridge, Konolds Pond viewed from every possible vantage
point -- not able to find TRUMPETER SWANS.  Did see 2 PEREGRINE
FALCONS flying around West Rock ridge and chasing Turkey and BLACK
