Celebrate Tacoma Pride with an explosion of color as artist Hugo Moro guides us through the creation of nature-inspired art from recyclable and disposable plastics. Transforming the detritus of our plastics-based throwaway culture, Moro will guide participants in transforming trash and recyclables into beauty. You will receive your Utopian Garden pass after participating in the workshop, to be used at your preferred time.

About the artist: Hugo Moro left his native Cuba at age 12 not to return until 30 years later as part of his research for his MFA. He has participated in the IX Havana Biennial and the First Ghetto Biennial in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Having worked as an art director in advertising and publishing, in addition to his own artistic work, Moro lived in New York, Miami and Seattle before he and his husband recently moved to Tacoma.
