The next Puyallup River Watershed Council Forum will be entirely focused
on NPDES Stormwater Permit Implementation. Join us on October 22, 5-7pm
at Sumner City Hall Council Chambers. This will be a great overview for
stormwater professionals, citizens, and County and City officials as
well.
The Forum will focus on State, Local and Environmental Perspectives on
NPDES Permit Implementation. Highlights follow:
(1) Kurt Fremont, Municipal Stormwater Permit Specialist, Department of
Ecology, will discuss "Phase II Municipal NPDES Stormwater
Requirements."
(2) Heather Trim, Urban Bays Project Coordinator, People for Puget
Sound, will discuss the "Impacts of Stormwater on the Puget Sound Basin
(3) There will be a series of short presentations from Phase I and II
permitees on their experiences with implementing EPA's NPDES stormwater
permits, under the Clean Water Act. This includes Ken Gill (City of
Fife), Mark Higginson (City of Puyallup), Ken Wolfe (City of Orting),
Harold Smelt (Pierce County), Lorna Mauren (City of Tacoma) and Luanne
Coachman (King County).
This will be followed by a panel discussion and Q&A with audience and
panel members. There will also be an opportunity for public comments
and brief updates.
