Hatteras 70 - Detroit 12V71 - consumption

I know that it has been several discussions around this but I would
like to get an clear idea about the fuel consumption on a
Hatteras -70 1973 with two Detroit 12V71.

I know the general rule is a gallon/cylinder?
So 24 gallons/hour running at cruise speed?

But if I decide to cruise at 6 knots, does anyone has a ball park number?
Can I run on one engine with propshaft lock?

I'm looking at buying a Hatteras -70 from 1973.
I'm not so worried about consumption for shorter runs.
But if I would like to go  say 2000-3000 nm it's getting more important.

Anyone that can give me a ruff estimate?
Say at 6 knot? Hull speed? 1 or 2 engine?

Patrik,
I am sure someone can repeat the theoretical hp required to drive a certain
weight at displacement and how much diesel is consumed to generate a hp,
but....For the Hatteras enthusiast, I suggest Samsmarine.com owners' forum.
It is the equivalent of this site, but focuses exclusively on Hatteras which
are by and large DD powered. As on this site, there are many wonderful
contributors who love their boats and graciously sharing their experiences.
