Dear Jean-Sebastien Picard,

Thank you for reporting this issue when installing CollectionSpace.
At a quick look at the error message you provided, this seems to be a
problem downloading, from a repository in Switzerland, a file
associated with a Java library when building CollectionSpace's
Services layer (and specifically, when building the
'org.collectionspace.services.config' module in that layer).

Our Maven expert will be back in the office tomorrow, and will
investigate your problem report.

If you have the opportunity, it'd also be helpful to know in advance:

  1. What server platform (Linux, Windows, Mac OS X, etc.) you're
installing CollectionSpace on, with an OS type / version if possible
    (e.g. Ubuntu Linux 12.0.4, Windows 7 ...)

  2. What version of Maven you're using.  (On most systems, typing
'mvn -version' should display detailed information, which can be
    pasted into a reply.)

  3. If you need to use any Maven proxy settings to access the
Internet, from the network within which this server is located.:

Thank you for your interest in CollectionSpace, and for your problem report!

Aron Roberts
UC Berkeley
(on behalf of the CollectionSpace project team)

P.S. That's an interesting problem: I just performed an entirely clean
build of CollectionSpace's Services layer here, to see if I could
replicate the problem, but could not. So far, we haven't observed this
issue in any of our own recent installations.  A copy of the library
file in question is also available from a CollectionSpace project-run
repository, which should - under most circumstances - be automatically
downloaded when building the Services layer, even if that file can't
be downloaded from that Swiss repository.
