Erie Canal Closure

For those of you stuck in Waterford and other points on the eastern Erie, I
have a possible side trip for you while you're waiting for the Canal to
open:

This weekend at Fort Edward, we are having the French And Indian War
re-enactment on Rogers Island right next to the town pier. Here's a little
video of the event back in 2009:

And a little blurb on the Chamber of Commerce site:

All events are free, and the pier with electric and water, showers etc are
also free. If things get filled up at the pier, I have other locations to
put your boat ... all within walking distance of the event.
