I heard on the radio this morning that New Haven will be getting a big chunk of federal money for some projects in the harbor, including significant dredging. Following plans that have been in place for a few years now, some of the dredging material will be used to add 58 acres of marsh to Sandy Point.

No doubt we'll see some disturbance while the work is being done, but it looks like we'll end up with significantly more habitat when it’s done. The news doesn’t say when the work might start.
