guesstimate Georgs? I know that that sort of estimate is one of those "how
long is a piece of string" questions. But I would be interested to know , is
it a reasonably accurate estimate of costs in the USA?

It's just a guesstimate method, Malcolm, of arriving at a ballpark
number. $10 to $15 per pound is probably more in line with monohull
costs. As Tim Askins suggests, $15 to $20 may be more appropriate for
power catamarans built for cruising and living aboard--and $25 would
not be outlandish.

But let me repeat, this is just a guesstimate approach to determining
cost of production and custom yachts. Do-it-yourselfers will of
course spend less.
