First, what do we mean by "saline water?" Water that is saline contains
significant amounts (referred to as "concentrations") of dissolved salts. In
this case, the concentration is the amount (by weight) of salt in water, as
expressed in "parts per million" (ppm). If water has a concentration of
10,000 ppm of dissolved salts, then one percent (10,000 divided by
1,000,000) of the weight of the water comes from dissolved salts.
Here are the parameters for saline water:
Fresh water - Less than 1,000 ppm
Slightly saline water - From 1,000 ppm to 3,000 ppm
Moderately saline water - From 3,000 ppm to 10,000 ppm
Highly saline water - From 10,000 ppm to 35,000 ppm
By the way, ocean water contains about 35,000 ppm of salt.
What content of salt water did you have in mind?

"Need to know weight of a gallon of water (salt preferred) and how many

What flavour of gallon - stunted US or full-sized Imperial? My rule of
thumb is one kilogram per litre.

Don't have here the conversion tables, but as I remember distilled water
weighs about 64 pounds per cubic foot. Must add something for "salt water"
but it depends on the salt content. I use 8 pounds per gallon for fresh
water, or as it's said, "a pint a pound."
Diesel fuel, by the way, is lighter -- I use a rough estimate of 7 pounds
per gallon.
We vary 12,000 pounds for both from fully dry to fully wet, so it's
interesting to know these numbers, if only roughly. For displacement speeds
an inch or two of waterline change makes no noticeable difference in speed
or fuel consumption for us. Someday I'll weigh some fuel in my small tank.
