Funny, I specifically asked Dick at the Newport Show last fall if he was
interested in building a powercat and he said "no way!"  I too,  admire his
designs, we chartered a MaineCat 30 a couple of years ago and loved  it.  I think
his new 41 is really neat.

PS: Just added more photos from our maiden voyage on Sno' Dog -  Whitby, ON
to Burlington, VT via the Rideau Waterway (see: www.geocities.com/snodoglog).
The PDQ is certainly a  perfect boat for waterways with locks, never owned a
more maneuverable  boat!

For  anyone considering a new medium-size power cat, keep an eye on the
website  of Maine Cats www.mecat.com. The owner, Dick Vermuelen is developing
a new  36-foot power cat, designed for a couple to go cruising in  the
islands for long stretches. I've seen his sailing catamarans at boat  shows,
and they seem well-built. His design goal is to build a power cat  that is
very fuel-efficient. His sailing catamarans lean toward simplicity,  open
deck space and light weight.

I have no connection to his  company. Dick is seeking input from possible
buyers, so if you are  interested please contact him.
