Join us as we continue work along the Western Border Trail. We’ll be working on weed removal and caring for the open prairie spaces alongside the trail.

This is a unique natural area tucked away in South Tacoma, consisting of both the more familiar Pacific Northwest forest ecosystem, but also has some Garry-oak prairie remnants. We will continue to clear weeds like blackberry and mulching the restoration pathways.

Volunteers have been doing amazing work at Fern Hill over the last couple of months by clearing a large blackberry patch, mulching, and getting the site ready for planting in the fall. We will be continuing to tackle the blackberry patch at this work party.
