George,
I was wondering what happened! Though I don't currently own a Power Cat, I
am in the market and keeping my eyes open. Perhaps to stimulate some
conversation, can anyone provide information on the status of the builds
going on at Pacific Expedition? The website/blog seems to have gone silent
and I was quite enjoying the progress reports of this local (to me) builder.
Tim

All hands--
I've been so busy with a new business venture (in cheese) that, A, I've had
little time for boating myself and, B, it just occurs to me that there
hasn't been any traffic on Power Catamaran List for quite a long time--even
though the subscriber roster has grown 13 percent in the last year.
What's happening in your world? Cruising? Buying? Selling? Building? Fixing?

A little tidbit....I was at the Newport Beach boat show and noticed that the
folks that build Selene trawlers (Jet-Tern) are building a power cat.
http://www.journeycatamarans.com/??? where is Nordhavn's catamarn :-)
?
Looks like a copy of Dick's Maine Cat P-47, but the guy said the hull is
based on a?power cat hull Tim Kernan designed for?a?video/photo support
vessel (http://www.oceanfilmboat.com/).? For the price I'd just go with the
Maine Cat.

Tim,
We came very close to purchasing a PE50 but got cold feet. There was
something a little off and we decided to wait and see how the company
does over the next few years. A few months ago I ran into this while
researching..

Doesn't sound good.

kindly remove my email address from your list... for some reason, I've
received 4 emails today alone! I am not in the market to purchase a
power cat, have one already.

My understanding is that Bill Fleenor wefleenor@ucdavis.edu worked with Pacific Expedition successfully. I believe his boat was in the tent mentioned in the article. My contacts with Pacific Expedition have been favorable, but I did not go beyond discussing pricing and scheduling about two years ago.
