Reading web site, it seems as if the author is the person who feels wronged by a New Zealand Shipyard and wants to vent.

There are any number of magazines which cater to their advertisers.

Building a one off vessel if you have no personal and professional knowlege of the yard seems like a risky business, no matter where the yard is located.  The person doing the naritative admits that he visited the yard a number of times and things "seemed" to be on track.

It boils down to building a custom yacht is expensive.  You get what you pay for (hopefully) and you should have a very knowlegable person who represents only you overseeing the construction.

I know of boats built in American yards, where the owners were unhappy with the result and people who had boats built in almost every country in the world that they were happy with.
