Hi all
Like all of you, we have no or a tiny dribble of water. I would LOVE a hot shower. On the other hand, I have young friends with babies in SA and Alamo Heights who have had no electricity for more then 24 hours. While they are going to hotels or neighbors today, they are worried about pipes during their absence. One said at least she had neighbors she and her infant can bunk with while her husband is sleeping at the hospital so he can work. I am trying to remember that this is temporary and we have lovely homes in which to stay warm and good neighbors to help us. A shout out to ours who helped us with pool water!
We did have a huge leak a couple of years ago and got a 25% credit from SAWS. A one time thing. We had to complete the forms and document that we had paid for the leak to be repaired. I do not know about other experiences, but I do know that often our zip code causes confusion because it is basically a Boerne zip code that is primarily in Kendall County. I have had to explain that many times. It was a help but the bill was $1600 dollars so we were still left with a hefty amount.
That having been said, I know that we will be dealing with a leak as the water comes back. There is cracked valve in the front yard. Many thanks to our neighbor who was bravely out walking Monday morning and took the time to knock on our door and let us know, followed by our next door neighbor who called and came over to help with a temporary fix. Jed was mighty cold out there dealing with it alone. We are SO LUCKY to good neighbors. If you see a big leak on Woodland Trace, it is being addressed! We are on the list for a plumber but I am sure there is going to be a huge demand.
Take care all and know that this too will pass.Julia
Julia,
I have to agree with you. This will pass too. We just have to hang in there!
