An updated Municipal Stormwater Permit was issued to the City of Tacoma on August 1, 2013, by the Washington State Department of Ecology under the Clean Water Act.  The permit requires that the City of Tacoma update its Stormwater Management Program as necessary to fully comply with permit conditions.  Major elements of the update will include updates to the Stormwater Management Program, Stormwater Management Manual, and City development codes and regulations.  On Thursday, November 21, the public will have an opportunity to discuss the Stormwater Management Program with the City of Tacoma Surface Water Group.  The Stormwater Management Program eleven subject areas will be reviewed at the workshop, as follows:

  • Legal Authority

  • Drainage System Mapping

  • Agency Coordination

  • Public Participation

  • Permitting New and Redevelopment Construction Projects

  • Drainage System Improvement Projects

  • Source Control Business Inspections

  • Drainage System Operation and Maintenance

  • Public Education
