MFJ-9232 on 6m

Has anyone used the 9232 mini loop or similar on 6m? It's a resonant loop
so it's a pretty narrow bandwidth but I'm thinking it might work well
enough for FT8 at 20w. It's advertised as a 10-40m loop but they have
suggested lengths for 80 in the manual. Don't have mine handy since I'm at
work so I'm just feeling it out before I get some more wire to cut for 6.

Hi Trevor,

I don't think you'll have any trouble with bandwidth on FT8, since the mode
is pretty narrowband in the first place.  In fact, I'd be surprised if you
could
not do SSB just fine (bandwidth-wise).  What I do suspect may be a problem
with that little tuner is shift in resonant frequency when you take your
hands
off the knobs and/or step away from it a bit.

As you go higher and higher in frequency, don't forget that skin effect
worsens,
so give this factor due consideration when choosing wire size for the 6m
loop.

Good luck on the air.

Dana
