Once in awhile I find interesting bird items at the Web site for the Irish national broadcast system, RTE www.rte.ie I just noted an item at RTE Web site about a big roost of starlings (30,000 it is estimated) under the Albert Bridge in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The interesting thing about these starlings is their collective flocking (murmuration) in the early evening before they roost, which has apparantly attracted a big crowd in Belfast. The address for this item at RTE is http://www.rte.ie/news/2008/1201/starlings.htm/ There also an interesting video of the starlings in Belfast. A bit far a field I know but I thought it was interesting.
