A member is looking for examples of policy and/or procedure for handling inmates who are under a guardianship. How are other local governments getting notification from the inmate's guardian that they are either (1) already appointed when the individual becomes incarcerated or (2) have been appointed guardian of an incarcerated individual? Does an inmate having a guardian change the internal policies for handling that inmate, e.g. discipline procedures? formal complaints? If you have any information on this, please email me at akarras@imla.orgmailto:akarras@imla.org and I will forward it on to the inquiring member.
Thanks!
Amanda
