Observation end time: 16:00:00
Total observation time: 9 hours
Official Counter: Tom Bolohan
Observers: Dave Brown, Ken Wootton
Visitors:
Lots of visitors today with it being the holiday. Thanks to everyone who
helped get todayâs count done.
Weather:
Winds were light from the NE and the swinging around to SE as the wind line
passed thtu before settling in as light SW for the rest of the count
period. Temps started at 11C and got to a high of 14C. Lots of blue skies
today with just a bit of cloud so birds were tough to spot once they
started gaining height.
Raptor Observations:
With all the sunshine around the birds were able to kettle and gain height
with most kettles consisting of TVs with other buteos and accipiters in
with them. Total birds for the day was 1394 of 10 different species
including a single Peregrine.
Non-raptor Observations:
See eBird checklist for details on non-raptors.
https://ebird.org/checklist/S120427605
Predictions:
Theyâre forecasting moderate SW winds tomorrow for the day and this may
bring some birds along the Cliff edge on the updraft formed by the winds
from that direction.
