Malcom's vast expertise shows here in his analysis... He is right on... I have chosen to do the hulls in CM for a number of reasons that I will not bore you with... In essence, the hulls are roughly 15% of the time, effort, materials, and cost, for a bridgedeck cat like Levitation...
Of far more importance are all the other things...
Degree of perfection of finish being THE biggie - time is money!
But also, propulsion, electrical and batteries, fluids and tankage, HVAC, navigation, etc...
Lets take propulsion:
I have put considerable thought and research into propulsion (this is a power cat after all) and come to conclusions different from the usual... We will see how well I have thought it through once the boat is in the water...
Lets take electrical:
I have come to the conclusion that the boat will be free of the AC grid, even when at the dock... No shore power... This will cost more than going the conventional route and force some hard choices on equipment and power useage, but I see it as the best solution for me <though it does make a hydraulic pop up, 60 inch TV, with 500 watt sorround sound and laser lights, unlikely to be included in the equipment list> {durn}
cheers ... denny
