Sure--The kite sail has been banned in most international racing--for a number
of reasons--but it has been very successfully used on  monohulls--and the mast
is not necessary.  --no heeling with the kite--it is pulling from a central
point on the axis of the boat, so no heeling moment.

I am having difficulty finding a builder of a kit for my cat--but it is just
as good a get home option for a monohull.--I hope we will see more of that
type of developement--also as a fuel reduction alternative.
