Cruising America's Great Loop and other inland routes
View all threadsThank you Jim Healey. I was shocked when I read the earlier post about the dredging in the Hudson area. It STANK of politics! My husband worked for GE at one time though he'd be disgusted with what Imwalt is doing with the company today. My husband left GE (Small aircraft engine design) in 1959 to learn my father's printing INK business. All 3 of my kids worked there also and one recently retired from what was left of Blacker Inks after numerous buyouts. My other son has now retired for the 2nd time from Engine design at Ford. My husband and two sons all learned what it is like to even TRY to work with the unreasonable demands of the 'unelected officials' at EPA. While EPA sounds like such a 'good thing' to the tree-huggers of the world, it is an unreasonable political boondoggle. The key word is: 'Wait a minute, the rules will change tomorrow! Not based upon REASON nor SCIENCE but CONTROL!I can't believe that the average US citizen is not concerned with our environment but now we are considered scum by the 'feel-gooders' and THAT is a false philosophy if there ever were one. Feelings never can substitute for facts and reason. Where the EPA is involved, you know it is politics and control, not reality.Margery Griffith
