RECLAIMED AND SUSTAINABLE
Work from Terra Nostrum on show at The Art Stop through December 27th.
George Capestany gleans his materials from forests, neighbor's yards, street-sides and landfills. As principal artist of Terra Nostrum, Capestany grounds his studio and his work in reclaimed and sustainable materials, including the ethically sourced exotic woods that he purchases from an Oregon wood supplier.  Working with his son, associate artist Brannden Nokes,  he has created a body of work that combines wood, Corian, and accent materials ranging from crayon to gold leaf.
"I want people to touch my work, to hold pieces up to the light, to explore the beauty of the wood."
All of Terra Nostrum's techniques are intriguing. Some are proprietary. See for yourself!
