The West Hylebos Wetlands is home to an awesome urban hike through one of the few remaining intact peat bogs in Puget Sound. We will remove invasive blackberry and continue to protect this valuable resource in Federal Way. Wetlands provide essential wildlife habitat and attractive places for people to relax, stroll and learn about rich nature. After the work party, volunteers and community members are welcomed to join our Annual Hylebos Picnic, from 1pm-3pm. We will celebrate another year of great work by community members and EarthCorps-Friends of the Hylebos, hear from US Congressman Adam Smith and the Mayor of Federal Way Skip Priest, eat delicious seafood from Taylor Shellfish and share our vision for the Hylebos Watershed to be the healthiest urban watershed in Puget Sound!
