Welcome to the Tacoma Arts Month e-newsletter. In each email, we'll bring you timely information about the multitude of fabulous arts and culture events you can be a part of this October. Let us help you plan out your weekday and weekend social calendar. The newsletters will be send twice weekly from late-September through October.

Tacoma Arts Month Opening Party & AMOCAT Arts Awards

Get out and have some fun while helping us kick off Tacoma Arts Month on the right note. Enjoy a stellar line-up of entertainment including:

  • Life-sized kaleidoscope installation by Tinkertopia
  • Contemporary dance by the Barefoot Collective
  • Cultural dance performances by Asia Pacific Cultural Center
  • Music by Champagne Sunday
  • Exhibit of Wayzgoose steamroller prints
  • Multi-media art exhibits by Matanofo Porter, Denis Maina, Saiyare Refaei, Jorge Garcia, and Kristin Giordano
  • Poetry by Tacoma Poet Laureate Cathy Nguyen
  • Film screening by The Grand Cinema and Spaceworks Tacoma
  • Hands-on art making with Tacoma Art Museum
  • Interactive photo booth with Metro Parks Tacoma
  • Juggling by Saylor Purtle
  • Cirque and aerial performances by Vuelta la Luna

Enjoy appetizers and no-host bar while we honor the 2016 funding recipients and AMOCAT Arts Award winners - Christopher Paul Jordan, Tacoma Youth Symphony Association, and Metro Parks Tacoma.

It's all free and open to the public - pack up the family, invite your friends and come help us celebrate! Presented by the Tacoma Arts Commission and Spaceworks Tacoma; hosted by Asia Pacific Cultural Center. Event sponsors: Northwest Stage, Artist & Craftsman Supply and The Grand Cinema.

Tacoma Studio Tour
[Tacoma Studio Tour with Jessica Spring]October 15 & 16

34 locations around Tacoma

You are invited inside the working studios of 57 local artists to learn about the artistic process, ask questions, and purchase one-of-a-kind creations. All studios will feature demonstrations or will have hands-on activities for visitors. This is a free, family friendly, self-guided tour. Tacoma Studio Tour Passport - Visit and Win!

Make sure to have your Studio Tour Passport stamped at each studio location you visit.
