To me, the Endeavour 40 is one strange-looking craft. I realize
it's innovative and it does provide a lot of livable space; it's a
boat that "shows well" at the boat show. However, as a
powercat, it's not particularly efficient - twin 240-hp engines
provide only a 15-kt cruise. (I guess they're putting 315-hp
into their new boats now.)
The Maine Cat on the other hand, promises to be both
exceptionally good looking AND fuel efficient - perhaps
at the cost of somewhat reduced living space.
To my mind, one boat is more suited for living aboard (mainly
at the dock) while the other will make more sense for extended
cruising. Depends on how you plan to use the boat.
It's true, as Georgs pointed out, Endeavour has a longer
track record with powercats, but having recently chartered a
MaineCat sailboat, I'm a big fan of this company and, with
their unique new entry into the market, I suspect it won't be
long before they catch up.
PS: If you're serious about the Endeavour 40, I'd check out
their 44 as well. To me, its more boat for less money - plus
it performs better with the same horsepower.

Any thoughts on the comparison of the two. Interested to
know what other (more informed than I) people think.
Thanks,
